On 3 December 1955, the first annual exhibition ‘World Press Photo 55’ opened its doors. Believing in the power of showing and the importance of seeing high-quality visual stories, we have since organized nearly 3000 exhibitions, and over 130 education and outreach events, in 522 cities in 122 countries. Every year, we work with international partners on our exhibitions program as part of our mission to connect the world to the stories that matter.
Presenting the results of the foundation’s annual contests, the annual World Press Photo Exhibition showcases the best photojournalism and documentary photography of the last year. We also specially curate exhibitions and projects, working with themes in our archive.
Our annual exhibition premieres each year in Amsterdam in April, before beginning its worldwide tour.
World Press Photo Exhibition 2023
Selected by an independent jury from more than 60,000 entries by 3,752 photographers from 127 countries, the World Press Photo Exhibition 2023 presents the winning images from the 66th annual World Press Photo Contest.
The World Press Photo Exhibition 2023 will premiere at De Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on 22 April before starting its worldwide tour to over 60 cities around the world. Upcoming exhibitions are confirmed and added to the calendar throughout the year.
